The first programme ever to be broadcast on the then-new BBC Two channel, popular children’s show Play School ran from 1964 to 1988, featuring songs, stories, and celebrity guests such as Val Doonican and Cilla Black. The toys featured on the programme can be seen at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford.
